HRSD EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS OPERATIONS NATIONAL POLICY DIRECTIVES

Effective February 16, 2004, the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development (HRSD) is implementing four national policy directives designed to improve the administration, management and accountability of contribution programs.

South East Region Professional Development Workshop

The SW PDW will be held in Ottawa Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at the Aristocrat Suite Hotel, www.aristocratsuites.com.

Registration is now open. Early Bird rate available until March 11th. Register by March 18th. Seating is limited.

 

Toronto Region Meeting

Toronto Region meeting with Pat Walcott, HRSD Director-General Service Delivery Toronto and York Region – Q and A on the new HRSD changes.

March 10th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at ACCES, 489 College Street, Suite 100.

An agenda and map will be sent out before the meeting.

ONESTEP membership renewal notices are going out to full and auxiliary members in the next week.

ONESTEP membership year is April 1 2004 to March 31, 2005.

Until recently, there has been a lack of information about paid workers in the non-profit sector, such as their demographic characteristics, their working conditions, and human resource challenges associated with their labour market. Drawing on a new source of data from Statistics Canada, Canadian Policy Research Networks (CPRN) has produced a series of path breaking reports on the non-profit workplace in Canada.
