Employment Centres Sent By Bob Burns
Wesley Urban Ministries Inc. has been advised by Human Resource Skills and
Development Canada (HRSDC) that the funding for our two Employment and Education
Resource Centres (EERC) will be ending. This decision by HRSDC is the result of
their initiative to consolidate the number of centres in Hamilton.

OTTAWA – A Parliamentary Committee will investigate controversial new HRSDC
guidelines that are killing longstanding, credible community programs, thanks to
a motion today by NDP MP Tony Martin.

New Democrat Tony Martin admits he has no idea how big the problem is. Until
a few weeks ago, the Sault Ste. Marie MP thought it was a local outbreak of
bureaucratic stupidity. Then he started hearing similar stories from Toronto,
Vancouver and London. Now he can barely keep his e-mail basket cleared.
