ONESTEP Participates in Joint Working Group to
Develop New Funding Mechanism for the Voluntary Sector
ONESTEP, ACTEW, OAYEC, OCASI, the Canadian Coalition of Community-Based
Employability Training and a variety of other associations have been invited to
work with HRSDC / Service Canada and Treasury Board staff of National and
Regional Headquarters in the development and piloting of a new funding mechanism
for the voluntary / non-profit sector. This work has been initiated to rebuild
relationships between non-profit community-based training organizations and the
federal government following the implementation of HRSDC's national policy
directives (and in particular, the Call for Proposals process).
For your information, we have attached the Draft Terms of Reference
for the group as well as the most recent listing of Working Group
Participants. The attached power point presentation, "Rebuilding
Relationships: Dialogue on CFP Enhancement and Reducing Administrative Burden"
was given out by HRSDC staff at a meeting that was set up to discuss HRSDC issues
with the umbrella groups in Toronto.
ONESTEP will provide regular updates on this project in this e-bulletin and
at regional meetings. For further information, please contact Bernadette Beaupré
at bbeaupre@onestep.on.ca or by telephone at (416) 591-7151, x 224.
