Introducing the Paths to Financial Vibrancy Project
Bold change is needed in the community-based training (CBT) sector to adapt and stay effective in the new funding environment. In the face of uncertainty and change, some CBT organizations have thrived. They have developed new leadership skills, built partnerships, and identified and acted on strategic opportunities. In short, they have become financially vibrant. What these agencies have learned can be consolidated and shared to give the sector as a whole a greater competitiveness.
Toward that end, ONESTEP, in collaboration with OAYEC and ACTEW and supported by a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, will:
- Compile existing research, best practices, available training opportunities, and indicators of financial vibrancy
- Bring together CBT practitioners, experts, and leaders to discuss specific and proven strategies for becoming financially vibrant
- Synthesize lessons-learned and create new resources for the sector
- Create an innovative, web-based tool to map out the steps associated with the paths to financial vibrancy
The paths we will explore in this initiative include: governance, leadership and strategic planning, entrepreneurship, financial management, human resource management, results-monitoring, public relations and communications, technology, and research utilization.
Stay tuned for regular updates on this exciting project.
